Configuring Dial-Up for Windows 2000

The following information shows you how you can configure your EscapeNet Dial-Up account with Windows 2000.

1. Open Network and Dial-Up Connections

You can get to the Dial-Up Networking Folder by clicking the Start button and selecting Settings and then clicking Network and Dial-up Connections.

2. Identifying your Modem

Double click the Make New Connection icon.


3. Location Information

If you haven't previously configured Dialup Networking then the screen below will ask you for some basic information. If you don't see the screen below, than skip to step 4.


4. New Connection Wizard

Click Next.


5. New Connection Type

Dial-Up to the Internet is already selected, press Next.


6. Set Up Connection Manually

Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a Local Area Network (LAN), as shown below and click Next.


7. Setting up your Internet Connection

Select I connect through a phone line and a modem, then click Next.


8. Internet Account Connection Information

Type in the EscapeNet Dial-Up Number and click Next.


9. Username and Password

Type in the your EscapeNet username and password and click Next.


10. Connection Name

Type in the EscapeNet for your connection name and click Next.


11. Setting up Email

Select Yes and click Next.


12. Setting up Email

Select Yes and click Next.


13. Server Type

Your EscapeNet email is POP3. Click Next.


14. Email Account Settings

Enter your name, email address, username, password and mail server information and click Next.


15. Congratulations

Your Dial-Up and Email have now been set up.
